After two back-to-back losses, the battered Minnesota Vikings are marching toward Empower field stadium to face off against the Denver Broncos. The preseason game will take place on Denver’s home turf this Sunday, the 28th of August. Will the Vikings win any plunder? Or will the Broncos stand tall and cast them back?  

It’s the last preseason week, and tensions are high around every corner. This is an important match for both teams, who desperately need a win right now. The Vikings are especially low on morale after losing to the 49ers last game and the Raiders before that. The team really needs to pull together if they want to go into regular seasons with their heads held high.  

On the other hand, the Broncos are doing a little better than their Sunday morning opponents. Although they suffered a blowout loss at the hands of the Buffalo Bills last week, they did secure a win against the Cowboys before that. Still, losing 42-15 to the Bills has impacted team morale, which they need to nip in the bud. They need to dominate the Vikings this Sunday to come out unphased.  

The Minnesota Vikings were hoping to make a comeback from last preseason’s triple-loss streak. However, they’ve already been beaten in their last two games, so all they can do now is salvage the upcoming match.

A look at Minnesota’s last game 

The Vikings Vs. 49ers game last Sunday was a total disappointment for fans. It was backup roster vs. backup roster, as neither team wanted to risk their starter players for a preseason game. What followed was some of the worst football we’ve ever had the displeasure of watching.  

Neither team could get an edge over the other as the first half saw a series of drops, punts, poor throws, and missed tackles. The audience was practically sleeping until Robbie Gould’s 49-yard field goal, scoring three points for Denver.  

The Vikings responded promptly with a touchdown scored by Rookie RB Ty Chandler, leading the score with 7-3 now. However, Gould returned with a field goal right before halftime, almost evening the score to 7-6.  

The 49ers made an insane drive, resulting in a touchdown pass to JaMycal Hasty. Then, the 49ers hit their opponents with yet another field goal, putting them in the lead. The Vikings could not hit back for the remainder of the game and ultimately gave in. Kellen Mond’s double interception throws didn’t help the team at all, ultimately losing the game.  

The 49ers won with a final score of 17-7, only adding to the Viking’s preseason losing streak. A streak that dates back to last year’s preseason, which ended in a 0-3 record for them. We might be seeing an exact repeat of last year if they don’t get their act straight in the next game.  

A look at Denver’s last game 

Denver Broncos faced off against Buffalo Bills at last week’s highly anticipated preseason matchup. Both teams were coming from previous wins and wanted to get a 2-0 record. We saw fierce competition from both sides early on, but Buffalo was clearly ahead of the curve. The match ended in a whopping win for the Bills, with a final score of 42-15.  

The Broncos were humiliated last week as they struggled to keep up with Buffalo’s offensive. Montrell Washington secured Denver’s first down near midfield but was beaten back by Buffalo’s defense. Denver won a penalty and secured their first goal, but Buffalo hit them back with a touchdown pass.  

Buffalo came back with another touchdown in the second quarter with a one-yard red zone plunge. Running back Zack Moss secured the offense for the Bills, putting them in a 14-3 lead.  

Denver’s McManus scored a 43-yard field goal, putting the score at 14-6. The Broncos still had a fighting chance up to this moment, but two more Buffalo touchdowns put the score at 28-6. At this point, it looked like Denver was going to roll out.  

The third quarter was even worse for Denver, as the Bills scored an easy touchdown, putting the score at 35-6. Denver’s McManus scored his third field goal at 55-yards, giving his team 3 more points. However, Buffalo’s Bill Johnson broke in with his second touchdown, securing a 42-9 score. Denver was officially rolled out with little time left on the clock.  

The Broncos got a commendable first touchdown during the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide. As the game ended, the final score was 42-15, with Buffalo coming out as the winner.  

Who will win the next preseason game? 

It is an interesting time in sports streaming as the Vikings attempt to save some face in their next game. Preseason is just about exhibitions, but securing at least one win could work wonders for team morale.  

This would be a good time for Minnesota to start using their starter players rather than sending backups as cannon fodder. But with regular seasons approaching, it doesn’t look like they want to risk their key players at this moment.  

Denver is also coming in after a humiliating defeat at the hands of Buffalo. The main takeaway from their last game was their weak defensive line, which they really need to bolster. We aren’t expecting much from Minnesota’s backup lines, but the Broncos still need to be careful about their exposure levels.  

One thing for sure is that Denver has an impressive passing game, so we’re expecting some early attacks from them. Minnesota isn’t on Buffalo’s level, so handling them will be much easier for Denver. Early predictions say Denver will come out on top, leaving the Vikings with yet another triple loss preseason.
