Arsenal FC vs Fulham FC
Fulham FC travels to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal FC on Saturday, 27th August, at 12:30 PM ET. This game will be a clash between two of the most in-form London teams.
Arsenal has won all three games this season, sitting on the top of the table. On the other hand, Fulham has drawn two and won one of their first three matches. They currently sit in 7th position, but that does not justify how Fulham has played to date.
The game on Saturday will give a clearer picture of what these two teams are capable of.
Arsenal FC
This season, Arsenal is the team in form, winning all the opening three matches. It puts them on top with a total of 9 points.
Mikel Arteta’s men have had an excellent start this season, with their stellar signing Gabriel Jesus being the standout player. Arsenal had been crying out for a couple of years for a mobile striker who gets into the box and finishes the chances he gets.
Mikel Arteta went all out for Gabriel Jesus, whom he made his priority summer signing. His impact on the Arsenal team could be seen from their pre-season tour in America. He bagged several goals from the get-go, thrashing Chelsea 4-0.
Arsenal brought this momentum to the Premier League in their first game when they faced Patrick Viera’s Crystal Palace. Arsenal scored the first goal in the 20th minute and their second goal in the 85th minute through an own goal by one of Palace’s defenders.
The second game was more of a trashing, as Arsenal comfortably defeated newcomers Bournemouth, 3-0. Though Jesus did not get on the scoresheet that day, he wreaked havoc on Bournemouth’s defense, helping Odegaard to score two fantastic goals.
To add to Bournemouth’s misery, William Saliba scored a stunning goal with his left foot from a rebound for the third goal. The third goal sealed Arsenal’s second win of the season.
Their last game was against an inferior Leicester City team, with a couple of their senior players getting distracted by transfer rumors. However, that does not take away the stellar performance of Arsenal’s players, especially their attacking forwards.
Gabriel Jesus scored two goals in this game, helping his team to a 4-2 win over the Foxes. The score remained like that till the start of the second half when William Saliba scored an own goal in the 53rd minute.
Granit Xhaka scored for Arsenal again in the 55th minute, bringing back the scoreline difference to 2 goals. James Maddison scored for Leicester in the 74th minute, bringing the score to 3-2, only for Martinelli to score again in the 75th minute for Arsenal.
The game ended in a 4-2 win for Arsenal, helping them maintain their 100% win record this season.

Serbia’s Aleksandar Mitrovic led the line for Fulham last season in the Championship, scoring a record number of 43 goals in a single season. He was the talisman for the West London side in their journey to the Premier League.
Many pundits and soccer fans predicted Fulham to have a bad start to the season, arguing that they could not repeat in the PL what they did in the Championship. However, Fulham proved their doubters wrong in their first three games.
Their first game of the season was against Liverpool FC at Craven Cottage. The result sent shockwaves through the entire Premier League. Many will now argue that Liverpool was lucky to go away with a point.

Unfortunately, Salah scored Liverpool’s second goal to escape with a point from Craven Cottage. It was apparent that Fulham was the better team in the first match, backed by the stadium’s intimate fan support.
Fulham’s second game was against Wolves, ending in a 0-0 draw. This game was a tactical battle between Scott Parker and Bruno Lage. Both teams had chances to take the lead but ended up sharing the spoils.
Fulham finally got their first win of the season against Brentford, a London rival. The hosts took the lead in the 1st minute and doubled it again in minute 20. However, Brentford came back strong and got a goal back just before the stroke of halftime.
Ivan Toney brought the scores back to level by scoring Brentford’s second goal in the 71st minute. However, Mitrovic came to Fulham’s rescue once more by scoring the winning goal in the 90th minute. This goal gave Fulham the first win of their season.
